SMART introduced the first SMART Board interactive whiteboard in 1991. The SMART Board interactive whiteboard is a product of SMART Technologies. It has a touch controlled screen that works with a projector and a computer. The projector puts the computer’s desktop image on interactive whiteboard which acts as monitor and input device. Users can write on the interactive whiteboard with digital ink or use a finger. It is same as control computer applications by pointing, clicking and dragging using mouse.
My point of view of SMART BOARD:
For sure,smartboard benefits the teachers in many ways.The benefits of using an interactive technology such as a Smartboard include: the accommodation of different learning styles, they are usable by students with limited motor skills and pages can automatically be saved, printed, emailed or pasted into a website. The latter option is especially beneficial as many high school and college classes offer class websites which could house the notes given in class each day with the annotations made by the teacher during lecture. Without the use of a Smartboard, the teacher would simply post a Powerpoint of the notes, having to omit any notes regarding comments made during class. I would imagine Smartboards are extremely popular in school as students are excited to interact with technology while answering questions. I hope the Smartboard will be widely used in every school in our country as soon as possible, regardless the locality and race of the students.
